What we have been up to this week

Welcome back!

This week in literacy we have started to read our class text 'Beegu'. The children have been acting out how Beegu is feeling and they have thought have some fantastic questions to ask her.

In maths we have been looking at comparing amounts up to 50. The children have worked really hard this week in Maths doing some challenging reasoning tasks.
Thank you to all the children who brought in their homework from over half term, we were so impressed with all the things you made and have displayed them in the classroom to showcase.

 Reminder - Please bring a cereal box for Monday for our DT project.
PE is now on a Friday.

The children have worked very hard this week. In Maths we have measured  and compared mass by using balance scales. We also learned the difference between volume and capacity. We had fun measuring and comparing using water. In Literacy we have created story maps for the Man on the Moon and looked the time connectives in the story to help us remember the order of events. We will start to retell the story next week. We have seen a huge improvement in children bringing to school book bags, books and reading logs. Thank you for your support in this. PE is on a Friday afternoon and whilst the rugby coach is in, our session finishes at 2:50. This means the children need to get changed as quickly as possible ready for home time. Please can you encourage your child to get changed independently? Thank you for your patience on a Friday home time. Rugby Skills

For the rest of the term we are going to be taught some rugby skills by a coach  from Hull FC on a Friday. We were super excited to meet James who taught us how to hold a rugby ball correctly.  We played some fun games to practice the skills we had been taught.
