Attendance

Our attendance last week was 93.8%. This is well below the target of 96%. Please can we make sure that children come to school unless it is really necessary that they be off. We can’t emphasise enough how important it is to be in every day. One missed day really does have a negative impact on their learning and progress.  Let’s aim to achieve target this week.

The children have worked very hard this week. In Maths we have measured  and compared mass by using balance scales. We also learned the difference between volume and capacity. We had fun measuring and comparing using water. In Literacy we have created story maps for the Man on the Moon and looked the time connectives in the story to help us remember the order of events. We will start to retell the story next week. We have seen a huge improvement in children bringing to school book bags, books and reading logs. Thank you for your support in this. PE is on a Friday afternoon and whilst the rugby coach is in, our session finishes at 2:50. This means the children need to get changed as quickly as possible ready for home time. Please can you encourage your child to get changed independently? Thank you for your patience on a Friday home time. Homework- This week we would like you to measure the capacity of different objects around the home. Can you order the objects from t

Coffee Afternoon - Baking

Thank you to the parents that came to the coffee afternoon today. We had great fun baking. Hopefully they taste nice too. They are out of the oven and waiting to be sampled by the children tomorrow.

Attendance - 2nd Place!!

Our for last week was  97.6%. Well done we exceeded the target of 96% but unfortunately Year 2SB beat us to 1st place. Lets try again this week. Come on 1RW!

Attendance

Unfortunately we didn't do very well on attendance last week and had a lot of absences. Our target is to get at least 96% and we only managed to get 93.9% . Whilst we appreciate that children do get poorly please can we make sure that unless it is absolutely necessary to keep them off children come to school. It really does impact their learning if they aren't here.

What a fantastic first week back. It has been lovely to hear about what the children have been up to in Easter holidays and also nice to see how quickly the children have got back into school routines.  We are currently 'upgrading' our reading area in class and would love some magazines or books the children don't read anymore at home to add to the area. Thank you in advance for any donations.  This week in Literacy we have started reading the story "Man on the Moon". We went on an exciting mission to Space and landed on the Moon, it was lots of fun! The children have written some amazing diary entries about their special trip. We also made souvenirs for Bob Souvenir shop ion the Moon using junk modelling. In Maths we have have practiced counting in tens and then started to look at comparing height and length.  In Topic we have started to make our own Moon using  p apier-mâché.  Homework- This week we would like the children to
